After seven years of service, Sesame will be shutting down on June 30th, 2020. 

We started Sesame with a mission to tell the stories that report cards can’t. It has been an incredible journey and I want to thank you on behalf of our team for making it possible. Unfortunately Sesame is no longer sustainable as a business so we’ve decided to shut down after this school year. It has been a difficult decision and we are doing our best to ensure a smooth transition for everyone.

What does this mean to me as a user?
Sesame’s web and mobile apps will continue to operate as usual for teachers, students, parents, and administrators until 11:59pm EST on June 30th, 2020. After that time, the service will no longer be accessible.

What will happen to my data?
We’re working towards releasing a data export feature by June which will allow you to download an archive of all of your data within your teacher account. At the time of shutdown on June 30th, all data on Sesame will be securely and permanently deleted from our servers.

What will happen to my Pro subscription?
The option to upgrade or renew the Pro plan will no longer be available starting Jan 1st, 2020. If you have an existing Pro subscription that ends before June 30th, it will be extended free of charge so that your experience will not be interrupted.

What resources are available to me?
Our team is still active over email at support@sesamehq.com and our Knowledge Base will continue to be available at https://support.sesamehq.com. When the data export feature is available, we will send out another announcement email along with a how-to guide.
